It’s hard to let go of what people think of you. I try never to worry about that. Sometimes I succeed. I dance like nobody’s looking.
Everyone says that you can’t love others if you don’t love yourself, and that’s true.
But part of loving yourself and others is practicing detachment. It’s not that you shouldn’t care. It’s that you should be serene in your caring. When you are with others, you should be able to be serenely and supremely You, because otherwise, it hurts everybody. If you don’t know how, you need to figure it out. Get to your place. Breathe. Be you…and then you can love.
